Medieval Meal~
It's my brother's birthday on Sunday. The only thing he wants is a good meal. Hmm... Fine. But I'm a disaster in a kitchen! So it's a huge challenge.

But since I'm a little insane and haven't found my drops, I put yet an additional challenge... Make it a medieval meal - my brother likes the period since I introduced him to Kaamelott a couple years ago.

I guess I dig the period too since I'm putting myself through this.

Tonight, I made the Hypocras. So far, so good... Tomorrow, I'm cleaning my place and will probably make the desert, a thing called Fairy's Fingers. We'll see.

I hope I won't screw up.
Medieval Tastes Good~
As I said, I cooked last weekend. Saturday, I went for some more shopping (mostly ants product - I dunno how these bloody insects manage to climb up to the 19th floor). I then made the Fairy's Fingers. Not so complicated but long to prepare. I manage not to burn them and the result was great. After the hypocras and these, I felt pretty confident for the rest of the meal.

Sunday morning, I woke up at 9 and started to prepare the main course. Chou braisé (cabbage) and Cailles Farcies (stuffed ruails ). Took the cabbage two hours to cook and quite some time to prepare the ruails.

At 12:20 my brother and his girlfriend arrived. I served the hypocras and we started to eat. And goodness, it was good! My brother really loved it, he even ate with his fingers to make it more... typical. Hahem.

I didn't know I could cook so well. I'm proud of myself.

When I was looking for the recipes in the Internet, my colleague Delphine told me there was some Medieval Festival going on soon in France, close by. I think I will have a peak. I talked about it to some friends, colleagues, even my brother. They all have different availabilities so I might go there the 2 weekends... I won't complain. n_n

Royaume 2007~
Two years ago was launched the first edition of the big airsoft game my Club organized. Over 150 people gathered for a great weekend in the Swiss mountains. It was quite a success and people were overall happy and willing to sign up for the next one. Although for the 7 staff members who organized all this, it was a bit too much to start over again the following year. So we all asked for a break!

The second edition of the Royaume will be held in September 8~9th, same place, almost the same organization team. We're now 8 on the project but 2 of us are new. The big challenge this year: people got lives! Doge has a girlfriend, SK will be a dad end of this year, Pearl has a special someone too, Hicks has too many kids! Anyway... We try to manage. But it's tough.

We only have 4 months to get everything ready! And I'm starting to freak out already. Nothing seems to be as well planned as it was 2 years ago. I'm afraid our second edition won't be as good as the first one. Stress is getting on me and we started to have these stupid arguments via emails this Monday. It's a shame we cannot turn our schedules around to make some time to meet and talk it over. Handling things over emails and forums is not the best way to work as a team, imo. But we don't really have a choice.

Well... Let's hope for the best...
Southern France Express Trip~
My trip to South France for my friend's wedding went well and I'm still alive! Weee!

I had a 4 day weekend (Thursday through Sunday) but since my friend Kouloum had a lot of preparation to do, I was only supposed to arrive on time for the wedding ceremony on Friday. I had the entire day on Thursday to plan my trip and pack my things... but I still managed to rush my packing at 3:00 am. I'm so well organized. u_u'

I planned on taking off at 8:00 am but I was 30 min off schedule when I left home and I had to withdraw some € on the way. Argh! But lucky me, everything went smoothly and I arrived in Marseille at 1:00 pm; the wedding was at 2:30... Perfect timing! n_n

The wedding was quick! So quick I didn't even have time to take pictures. I realize I take less and less pictures... Dunno why. Then, we were soon off to Kouloum's parents for the evening. I behaved! I drank but could hold it decently. Surprising, I must say... I think I went to bed around 5~6:00 am the next morning and slept until noon.

After a great breakfast (pancakes!), I was off to Montpellier. The plan was not to invade my friend's weekend after her wedding so I decided to take advantage of the trip to see people in the area. I could have visited my cousin in Toulouse but it was just a little out of my way. Montpellier was 2h away and closer to home (not much than Marseille, though).

I had fun! I spent the evening with two buddies. One of them had mercy and accepted to put me up for the night. We took the tramway to go downtown and that is when I realized I've been in Montpellier before! I spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out with whom, when and for what occasion. I could feel my blond hair growing inside my skull. Turned out Kouloum lived there for a while and I paid her a visit a few years back. I just cared about the friend, not the place she was living in. Hahem.

We spent the evening in a Vodka bar, drinking funny shots and other Vodka drinks, hanging with a bunch of people there. The guys definitely had their habits in that place. We all slept in the same house, went to bed when the sun was rising... Woke up at noon again... No hangover, as usual. I managed to hold my liquor pretty good this time too, though. Not that I behaved perfectly but... I can remember the evening/night. Well, a good 90% of it, anyway. I must be in a good drinking period. [I do realize I sound pathetic. I do. u_u]

I took off around 7:00 pm thinking I would be home 4h later... Wrooong! I just forgot to take into consideration the 4 day weekend thing that I wasn't the only one to enjoy... I spent 5h in traffic jam between Montpellier and Valance and finally arrived home around 3:00 am. I had so much RedBull in my system I didn't fall asleep before 4:00 am and at 8:30, I had to get up and go to work. Joy!

Overall rating: Great! Thank you all for the great weekend!
Though: I should go to Montpellier someday... Never been there.
Bored At Work~
I have nothing to do. Nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing. Nothing!

Days are very, very long. :|

Médiévales D'Andilly~
Randomness~
I have a little more work to do today. But still time to update here... Bad news is: The more I have to wait for the Spring 08 selections, the less time I will have to create the line in the system. It's going to be a huge rush just after a three week big-nothing period. I hope I will survive.

Because of previous statement, I might not be able to go attend my little cousin's baptism in East France on 16th. Too much road, no vacation allowed. Bad timing. Too bad. I wanted to see my family, friends and all... I guess I will have to find a better time. :|

My sprained ankle is still painful. I don't really now what to do to make it heal. My doc won't do anything on it since it's a minor sprain but it's still a pain in the ass when I have to do other things that just walking on flat ground. I guess I'll have to go see another doc.

Am I good at sewing? We will see. I need a costume for this airsoft game in September... It should be inspired from country people from the 18th (I think). But since it's supposed to be in the future, I can improvise. Let's hope I'm not going to waste too much fabric. :|

I don't feel very healthy these days. I want to eat more veggies and fruits but I'm not up to do grocery shopping every evening and fresh vegetables and fruits don't last very long nowadays. Plus... I don't like cooking, I'm bored in a kitchen. And being single... You have to do small quantities. It's not making my life really easy.

It seems to me it's been a while since I haven't traveled. But I was in Montpellier not so long ago. Jeez! It was a little more than a week ago! I guess I need the long distance trips and jet lags to feel like I'm traveling. Weird me... I'd like to go to Brussels again someday.

Next weekend, I'm going back to this cool medieval weekend in Andilly. I'm looking forward to it! Talisker is supposed to come in a medieval costume... We'll see. n_n I'll take pictures, for sure!
