| Sweden Day 01: Off I Go~

This is time! I'm already packed, ready to go... I finally have my laptop (brand new, no problem for now)! So I should be able to update this blog with little Swedish stories and maybe a few pictures.
Stay tune!

| Sweden Day 02: Armémuseum~
|
After a few hours delay in our itinary - we transited via Munich instead of Zurich - we nanaged to arrive in Stockholm! Finally!
What can I say about this counrty? They have a really ugly language (not as ugly as German, though), they cannot get their bus and subway system clearly explained to the poor tourists like us, their weather cannot seem to decide whether it's cold, hot, wet or dry... Hmmm...
We turned around for endless hours trying to find the Information Center... We finally managed to find one! Weeeee! We also found a free sport for a free wi-fi Internet connexion in a park. Weird. But cool!
My laptop is dead again (using my friend's laptop - poor guy), my belly hurts, my feet are in agony... Let's hope tomorrow will be better.
We visited the "Armémuseum", which is... a museum about Sweden related to wars and stuff... It was really interesting but we didn't have time to finish the visit as it closed at 4pm instead of 5 like the guide book says... Bloody thing!

| Sweden Day 03: Historiska Museet~
|
The weather was much better! But is it important when you decide to visit a museum and end up staying more than 4h in there?
This time, we visited the Historiska Museet which realtes the History of Sweden though the ages... From the origin. Well, we lacked a little something to really relate to the people. Like... reconstitution? It's really nice to look at pieces of tool, clothing or jewelery behind glasses but hey! One just wants to picture these people a bit better. That, we didn't have.
But we saw some really interesting things, really. Except the Middle Age part, it was a bit too religious for me. I liked the vikings houses and stuff... Not enough of that. Too bad. Actually, there were a hundred brooches in the entire museum but not a single example of how people wore them. :| *frustrated*
Anyway... Nice day. I bought a book to start my now ritual scrap book. My put-everything-in book, in fact. It will be loaded with bits of brochures, subway tickets and other joyfull c*ap. *happy*
Time for some pictures now...

| Sweden Day 04: Skansen~
|
Skansen is the oldest open air museum in the world. To say things simply, the museum is a museum by itself. Follow me there...
So we arrived there around 11 am I think and left when it closed, around 5 pm. All that time, we've been wandering around, walking, up and down the hills, all around the place. This thing is huge!
At the begining, I was complaining that none of the houses, farms, barns, etc. were open to visits but then... if everything had been opened, I would still be there.
The place is really interesting... once you get to see the inside. And fortunately, we did find a few farms, houses and working places opened and occupied. It feels funny when you enter a house and you find a mid-19th century dressed blond girl making coffee by the fireplace. You hardly dare seting foot inside, actually. Until you notice she's already speaking with a couple tourists so you can sneak in and lurke around. Weird. At the end, you just go with it. You enter, you "hej" the person there and you look around and start asking stupid tourist questions. ^^ Yay!
I will pass on the animals, although it fun to see the kind of animals these people used to hunt, keep and such, it's just like any other zoo at the end. Boring. Although, the fox sneaking in the bear's place behind their backs while his buddy fox was keeping them busy from behind the fence was funny.
The day was really interesting and educationnal.
Special hello to my manager - Elsie - who is taking care of my things while I'm there.

| Sweden Day 05: Aquarium & Vasamuseet~
|
Today, we headed to the Aquarium which is near the Vasamuseet (Vasa museum) which we intended to visit too.
I've never seen such a small aquarium. So what? You gather a dozen aquariums plus a huge one, you call it a museum and you make people pay? I hope it's not too expensive. I couldn't tell, we used our 74h pass card... We go everywhere and visit whatever we want for three days.
OK, at 11:20, we were out of the place. Not many pictures...

Well, that was quick!
Off to see the Vasa!
The Vasa is a warship which capzised in 1628 not far away from its departure point. The second gun deck with heavy canons was probably a bit too much for this kind of ship.
In the 1950s, a marine archeologist who wanted to find this ship seached for it a few years until he finally found its exact location.
After a complex salvage operation, the Vasa saw the sunlight again for the first time in 333 years. It took 17 years to restore the ship. Now we can visit the museum, admire the piece of work and art and learn more about the life of the people at that period.
Really interesting! We got out of there around 4pm. I'm exhausted!
And thanks to Swedish weird weather, I caught a cold. I feel really bad.
[Sorry, short update. I'm out of battery soon. ]

| Sweden Day 06: Royal Palace & Co.~
|
So, it was yesterday... Sorry for the lack of update but the battery on the laptop died before I could start with Tabulas.
So, tired and sick as hell, I managed to follow Swissknife around in the visit of the multiple museums around the Royal Palace. I knew it would be less interesting to me than the one we visited before. I'm not that much into empty rooms, soulless art pieces and stuff. If I cannot imagine the people behind all thins, it's for me quite boring.
The only interesting parts were...
The evening gawns of the actual queen, princess, whatever she's called... She's a commoner and she married the king of Sweden. Grand. They had three kids, now grown ups, all three really good looking. I must say, looking at the paintings of royal family members throughout the ages, there were some really handsome men and beautiful ladies. Joséphine, grand niece (I think) of the Napoléon's Joséphine married one of the kings at some point. She was really pretty.
Anyway... There was also an exhibit of carriages (sp?). I was impressed. Most of them were made on France, they must have cost a lot of "kronor" if you ask me. These people knew how to travel... of show off. Not less than 8 horses for one of these carriages!
The sleigh was nice too. It seems people prefered the cold weather when the waters were all iced because it was way easier to get around. I can imagine. Although, it is said there were a lot of accidents.
There was also an exhibit of clothes, armors, weapons... Pretty nice to see the costume of that king Whatshisname who was killed wearing it at a masked ball. There's still blood stains on the jacket. Hmm...
The jewels and crowns... boring. The royal decorations... boring. Rooms and stuff... almost boring.
I think I'm a medieval person. I like the rough times where men used to fight with big blades and axes and stuff... When men weren't wearing high heels and dentelle all over... When woman were something else than pretty dolls in dresses that didn't allow any movments.
I want more of the viking stuff.
No pictures this time. We weren't allowed any pictures in most of these places. :| I'll probably update this entry with pictures of the palace later on.

| Sweden Day 07: Nothing & MAX~
|
Today, we decided to do nothing. Big, big nothing. We woke up form a terrible night were we tried to get some air... Swissknife caught a cold too.
We stayed in bed, eated when we felt like it... We decided to go out when hunger was too strong to be satisfied with bread and butter. So it was about 3:30 or so.
We took both our laptops and headed to MAX. It's a fast food like that sells burgers... Just like a regular McDo, only it's better and... it's Swedish. And most of all, they offer a free wi-fi connexion. I've been here 4h already.
The night is here, a lot of different people passed by, some really weird, some really noisy... Swedes are fun... And strange.
And I really don't like the sound of their language. :-s Sorry for all the Swedese who are reading these lines. And thank you for your TV programs with original versions of all the American shows you're airing. That makes tourists like me happy to be able to loose some brain cell in front of the TV and that makes Swedese fluent in English, which is a big help (unlike Japan where no one seems to be able to speak English properly).
Anyway, I didn't know I was doing so many things on Internet. It's like another full time job for which I haven't taken any vacation from. And I mean it when I talk about job. I did my Blue duty on this site, my admin duty on this other site... Tabulas is not a job but it takes time too...
I should consider cutting my Internet time in two... Maybe... My brother was pushing me to start ninjutsu again. My brain still shows these mental pictures of my knee going all wrong when I did this knee cap luxation almost a year ago... I'm not sure. But he told me there were these two people with old injuries too who were just not doing some of the exercises when they were unsure of their capacity to handle it. I really don't know. Since the teacher is a friend, I'll probably ask for a few classes before I decide to pay the fees. Hm... Needs thinking.
And I'm still siiiiick !
OK, Swissknife seems bored like hell waiting for me to finish so we can go home... See you next time, people.

| Sweden Day 09: Not Much & Shopping~
|
I feel as if I had stayed in bed for half a week... I did stay in bed the entire day yesterday with a headache and sore throat, what a happy day! -_-'
Anyway... Today, the Swidish woman, the owner of the place wanted to clean up so we had to leave at some point. We had a hard time leaving since we caught this American TV show called "America's Next Top Model" or something... We were brainwashed by this show the day before. What a marathon day! So today we wanted to know who won... I feel ashamed, I do. u_u'
So off we went! I needed to do some shopping since I was 2 t-shirt short to finish this stay in Sweden. That or I would have to find a public laundry thingy and find out how to use it... in Swedish! Better to go to a cashier, smile stupidly and give away a few kronor.
I also found a Superman t-shirt to match the underwears I bought during my last trip to NY. *feels stupid* I love it! Wearing both tomorrow, for sure.
We are now at MAX's, not eating much, fortunately... We would end up fat eating as much burgers as the number of hours we are spending in that place.
Maybe later on, I'll fill you in with few of my theories about Swedes. I've come to some conclusion during my illness. Hmm... Interesting. I'll propably gather all my thoughts for a final entry at the end of my journey.
Today, no pictures. I took a picture or that nice little bridge we crossed coming here but I'm lazy and won't upload it now. Yes, you can throw stones at me. I probably won't feel anything right now, anyway... I'm still a bit sick and my head is a bit painful still. Swissknife seems to have recover faster than me. I'm getting old.

| Sweden Day 10: Nothing, Really~
|
I woke up, didn't feel like getting up, finished Swissknife's book about sovietic women during WWII, took my shower, watched some TV while Swissknife was reading his guides and maps...
That's about it. Now, usual MAX session to catch up with the Internet work. I'll finish here. Not much to tell.
Oh yeah... Still a bit sick, headache... I'll get better in a few days.
Take good care people!

| Whatever!~
|
No update these days. I'm really sorry for the people who were following up closely on the Swedish trip. Too much sh1t to deal with with a limited connexion time each day.
Demotivation is there. I'm no good for hard happy working hours anymore. Parano.be and stupid selfish people will... did ? ruin my pleasure. There's not much nice people out there when it's a question of power, even virtual.
I'm really fed up.
Sorry again. I'll try to make a few post updates later on, when I'm home and free from the sh1t load of problems.
Take care everyone.

| Sweden Day 15: Shopping~
|
It was about time we go on a spending sprea. Swissknife got his CCCP t-shirt he saw last week. Actually, he got two.
And I spent any kronor I had left. I have nothing in my pokets. I gave every last coins to Swissknife... and asked him for one back as a souvenir.
I bought scissors... medieval style! I wanted to try it in the shop as a joke since I was pretty sure they wouldn't cut anything. It did actually cut my scarf. I was really impressed... I bought it.

The acient style scissors
I also came across a cool bag I couldn't leave without. I'm really into military-like things and camo these times. I think my airsoft activity is getting too much influence on me.

The bag
I also bought other things like t-shirts, a belt, a necklace, a scarf, a ring... Too many things!
So, tonight, we will have to pack our things and hope everything will fit in our suitcases. What a challenge. Although, it's nothing compare to all the trouble I usually have when I have to leave Japan. The last time, I had to buy another suitcase.
Tomorrow morning, we are leaving our B&B to catch our plane on time early afternoon. *finger crossed* I hope there will be no delay, no lost luggage, no trouble of any kind...
We are both hoping our health will get better once we're back in our homes.

| My Airsoft Club On French TV~
|
I went to this airsoft game last month with my Club. We saw the people with the camera and all but I wasn't sure what channel they were working for and if we were going to be on TV or not.
Turned out they did put us on TV.
Huhu...

| New Layout~
|
Again... I was fed up with the previous one. That was pretty quick. Anyway... This one will do... Until I get fed up too.
In case you are wondering, I did do the little drawing on the banner. Since I bought my bro's scanner the other day, I've started to use the good ol' pencils again. I'm rusty! But it feels good.
Currently watching: TV... or not...
