| Laptop Stories~
|
So, my laptop died the other day, after more than five years of (more or less) good services. I bought a laptop to my brother (for like... 100.- CHF) and this one died too a week later.
So, it was time to stop trying to save money and get a new laptop - cause there's no way I can live without one. :| So on the net I go and find the nicest laptop ever (at the time). A Tablet PC, TOSHIBA Tecra M4-105, so sexy!
So, after two weeks of so of waiting, the shop calls me to pick it up. I ran to get it during my working hours (yeah, my manager agreed to let me pick it up right away instead of letting me leave earlier) and had to wait patiently the time to go home to - finally - open the box. Tadaaaaam!
But my life is not that simple, right. The laptop started to freeze or reboot without warning. I took it to my brother and had him look at it. At first, he thought it was because of Norton anti-virus (which according to him is the biggest c*ap ever) so he uninstalled it. The laptop worked a bit longer but still had the same problems. So he kept it and did the installation all over again before giving it back to me.
I brought the thing back home, switched it on and a few moments later, it just switched off by itself... -_-' That was it!
Today, I took it back to were I bought it and it will be sent to a Toshiba technical service thingy in Lausanne. The whole process will take another week. I'm cursed... I don't see any other explanation.
Let's hope the damn thing will be running perfectly after that and I won't have any issue with it in Sweden. In any case, I have a three year worldwide warranty... Too bad for the Swedish.
Currently feeling: irritated

| Tabulas : Slow~
|
I've been having some hard time with Tabulas lately. The pages load very slowly and sometime I just give up on doing anything.
My friend Swissknife who I introduced to Tabulas (saying it was veeeeeery good) has even more problems than me with timed out sessions and other very, very slow page loadings.
I don't know what's wrong... I hope it will get better. We wanted to blog our trip to Sweden... It's gonna be difficult with a slow blog. :|

| A Quelque Part~
|
A quoi ça rime ?

| Tag Board Under Attack~
|
Jeez! After beeing spammed with add comments, here comes the tag board attack... Someday, there will be a police on the web to track these [censored] down.
Although, I'm not sure the police thingy will be a very good idea... :| When you think about it... Creepy!

| People's Skills~
|
It's funny how people are differently skilled. I notice that everyday. Today, I though about it after we had this talk with my manager about a lady in my team who arrived five or six months ago and still cannot get the work done properly. What is she good at? There should be something!
My thoughts jumping from one thing to another while doing the boring data entry job I'm doing these days (terrible code creation period), I came to think about my brother's skills compared to mine. We have the same parents, yet we are totally different. OK, that what humanity's like, I know that. But we had the same education, we listened to the same music, played the same games... Yet, he's a ear person while I'm more of an eye person.
The other day, he was riding with me in my car and was complaining about the sound of my music system. It's the original thing, no customization, nothing. And he served me with y big theory about good sound vs. bad sound. He was kind enough to say my sound wasn't that bad but could be better. "Can't you hear the difference?" Duh! For me, nothing to complain about...
For sure, music isn't my domain, even though I listen to quite a lot. I feel I'm missing something.
