| New Layout Is Up~
|
It took me too long and I'm not 100% happy with it. Hmm. And I have a problem with the radio.blog which shows the propoer color in IE but not in Firefox. How weird.
I still have a lot of things to fix and finish but for now, it will have to do. It's almost... it's passed 2am and I have to work tomorrow.

| Royaume Test Game~
|
Saturday 2nd of July was our first test game for the Royaume. We were supposed to have only one test but it turns out our choices for the two leaders in each teams were... bad.
The guy who should have been the Emperor loses his temper too fast and cannot command a bunch of people. The guy who should have been Jossuah cannot follow directives and does not care about the people he's in charge of. Our conclusions were that we had to change them both. And since the scenario depends on these two characters we have to find the right people. This is the spinal cord of the whole weekend.
Our president is very good at managing people and he did really well when he replaced the lose-his-temper guy who left the game. So our first thought was that he should lead one of the teams for the big weekend. He said we could ask to one of the French guys from Lyon to take command of the second team. This means another test game for all.
Few days later I realize that taking our president as one of the team's leader is not a very good idea. He's too much implied in the scenario development to be a partial party hence one team would have the advantage over the other. Bad idea. But then, where to find someone as good as he is to lead a team of roughly 50~80 players during 2 days? That is gonna be a huge challenge. Especially since the big weekend is in 14 weeks only. Less than 3 months!
Aside from that, the Team Rocket can count a new member: Wolf. I think we are... 13 members in our team now. Last two additions were Shark and Swissknife. And we are three girls in the team which is somehow pretty great.
THE TEAM ROCKET

Yup, that would be us. The majority of us. We rule! Arh! I feel so proud!

| Layout~

It still needs work. I'll try to get it done by the end of the week.
I was kinda inspired by another user's layout (which I think is really great) and I feel kinds bad now. Like if I had stolen her entire layout. Hmm. Weird.

Looking forward to the galley new sub-albums, image manipulation and picture comment features.
Also waiting to see the new control panel. Oh and I'm sure Dodo will be able to customize the DMB community layout in no time.

| Vacation Plans~
|
My brother is planning to go to Japan again next Spring. He wants to see the cherry blossom season. I would love to go along with him but I fear I will never be able to gather the money. *sigh* How uncool is that? I will have to make up my mind and accept that he will be enjoying Japan without me this time. I will wave him goodbye and hope to see his pictures when he comes back. This is absolutely terrible.
I was planning to go to the US with my long last friend Gégé for a 10 day stay in a ranch. I guess she's still saving money. Me... tough one. I still haven't been able to save a cent. I'm not totally hopeless, though. There's always a solution. And I really want to experience that. We used to talk about it when we were students in LR. Now, maybe we have the opportunity to make it come true. Like I did with Japan. Ha!
My next vacation is planned on October and it will be right after the Royaume weekend. I will most certainly need time to recover from the stress of the organization and the exhausting NPC job I will be doing over the weekend. And I'm not planning to go anywhere.

| Working Weekend~
|
Sunday was the Royaume Comity meeting. Fortunately, it was in our city this time. We invited the Rockets for lunch, the meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 pm so that way we would all be on time. Ha. Only Hicks is always late so we began the meeting around 3:00. Heh.
Not much to say. It was a regular meeting: endless hours of problems, solutions, ideas, propositions, etc. As usual, very productive and highly necessary for the organization of the big event. Especially since we all live in different locations.
I think Hicks hasn't planned the time he would be spending on the project and he's having tensions with the wife. Let's hope she will be patient enough until October. As a side note, he perfectly understood and agreed that he could not be part of the scenario for the Royaume. It would definitely be bad the Club's image and for the game itself.
We decided on a date for the second Test Game. It will be on 3rd of September. It's only one month prior to the big game and I think there's only SK and myself to worry... close to panic! But there was clearly no other choice. It will have to do. Let's hope we will not be as wrong in the choice of players for the two main characters.
I spent my Sunday on the computer working on different web sites. First, I worked on some updates for the Royaume. I even wrote a new scoop for the Daily Dome. Then I fixed some FireFox layout compatibility issues I had with my own site. And I also fixed Stardust all three themes for the same reasons (font was wrongly displayed and made the thing look terrible). Also took the opportunity to update some stuff here and there. I finished the evening with Disneyland pictures upload to my site. Since I didn't resize the original pictures (too lazy) it took over an hour. He. It finished while I was sleeping.
Now... lot to do this week again on top of my regular working hours. *sigh* Can't wait for October.

| [Jap TV] Tokyo Love Story~
|
With my brother and a friend of his, we meet every Monday evening to watch Japanese TV series. Yesterday, we watched the end of Tokyo Love Story. Until now, we were kinda used and conditioned for the happy end we always used to have. Well, except for Summer Snow where the hero dies at the end. And maybe this serie with the retarded kids who suffered a thousand time in each episode. Anyway... this Tokyo Love Story was looking like we were going to have our happy end.
The story was kinda... over rated. A loves B but B loves C who is A's best friend. A meets D, D loves A but A is sad cause B doesn't live him. B and C go out together, A wants B and C to be happy so he starts to look toward D's direction. A and D end up together. But her comes the trouble between B and C, they split up because B saw C with a woman (E) and B goes crying on A's arms. B realizes she loves A but A is involved with D. A doesn't know what to do. He's a fucking moron who can't decide and make up his mind. Arrh! At the end D leave for L.A. and A does nothing. Like... really: NOTHING.
Three years later...
A and B attends to C's wedding with E. A and B then walks in the street and A sees D walking toward them. A calls D, she stops, they talk. And here falls the news: A and B are married! Arrh! B let A and D together (how sweet of her - "I'll let you spend time with the guy I stole from you") and goes shopping. A and D talk and it's sooo obvious that they still love each other... Then they say good bye and go separate ways. What a shity end!
My bro proposed to use the CDs as Frisbee. We were all so depressed. Poor D. She was a happy and joyful girl. She deserved to have the stupid A guy if he made her happy. One of the guys said it was probably a true story. That was even more depressing.

| Custom V902 SH~
|
I have this new cell phone since yesterday. It's kinda big but it's not a problem for me. I never understood why a cell phone should be so tiny you can't find it in your pocket or in your puse. Mine is big but as the saying goes: "Bigger is better". Ha!
I remembered I had something in a drawer that could be fun to use on it. A stuff I brought back from Japan during my first trip there. It must have been in the drawer since I moved in... more than a year ago.
Anyway, tonight was craft evening. So here's the result! Be kind, it's my first try.
I swear it's not that easy to apply. But I managed and I'm happy with it. Kawaii!

I heard something really painful tonight. People are criticizing the Rocket and also criticizing the Royaume and the organization team. So easy, hu? I'm waiting for Hicks' feedback but something tells me I won't last long in the comity. I hate polemics.

| Accomplishment~
|
Gee! I've finally made it! I went to the swimming pool like every other Wednesday and I managed to swim 1 km! I'm so proud! The first time I only managed 300 m or so. Ha! It took me around 5 pool sessions to accomplish that. OK, for most people it's nothing but for me... it's GREAT!
I invited my poor foodless brother for dinner and a... DVD. We watched Les Choristes which is an extremely great French movie with Gérard Jugnot and Kad to name only two. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to discover yet another French movie.
A special hello to boogiesan and his wife Chikako. I hope to see you around for a long time.

| Tabulas Issues~
|
I have a problem with two features on Tabulas. Weird. 'Friend Of' page doesn't show people who added me after 2003 and 'Friend Of' list in my profile doesn't list their names.
My second problem is with Communities. It seems I can only join one (which I did with DMB long ago) and my quota has expired. I wanted to join a new community but... I just can't.
Obviously only Roy can fix the problem and he seems pretty busy. I will have to wait and be patient. *sigh* So not my thing.

Went bowling tonight. I suck at bowling or pool. We did both and I got lucky. At some moments only. I did performed a couple strikes!
Gee, 2:10 am. Better go to sleep. I am supposed to call up a colleague tomorrow to visit Annecy with her. Should be fun.
I need my beauty sleep. More details to come. And pictures.

| [Mini Serie] Shogun~
|
Kill me! I willingly bought and watched Shogun. OK so I bought the DVD box a while ago and finished only this weekend but still. I watched it.
The first time I saw this thing, I think I was 14, it was on TV and I missed a lot of episodes. I didn't remember Richard Chamberlain was so ugly with the beard. Yuck, yucky yuck!
Although, aside from the fact that it's an old thing (1980's), it is a great view of 17th century Japan. There's a great respect of the costumes, hairdos, the housing, etc. It's totally mind blowing for anyone in love with Japan and History. They didn't even give us subtitles when the characters were speaking Japanese. Just like if you were there too. It's not a big deal, the subject is pretty obvious if only you followed what was happening.
Sure, it's long. It's extremely long. But I could only enjoy it!
Last episode was kinda getting on my nerves. "I love thee", "I love thee too". "I missed thee"... This old English thing is funny at first but when they "I love thee" for two whole episodes, it's really getting annoying.
Anyway, this mini-serie drama deserves its two thumbs up!

| WWII Documentary~
|
I was watching TV a few minutes ago. Eek! I haven't done that in weeks. Weird. I didn't really miss it. Hmm. That's not the point.
My stomach made me acknowledge hunger by making it painful so I grabbed a bowl of rice and sat in front of the TV while eating. I don't know why but the TRS (Télévision Suisse Romande) has been airing a lot of documentary about the WWII these past 6 months. Pretty funny when we know we didn't even participated in this war. So far we had Hitler and his plans to rebuilt a better looking Derlin (better than Paris), medical experiments in concentration camps, life in concentration camps, life in extermination camps, the opening of the camps by the Allies, how did France took part in the cut-the-German-cake party (thanks De Gaulle, this guy had nose…), how did the US and U.R.S.S. ended up having this cold war thinkg and so on. I missed a lot obviously as I don't spend my time in front of the TV set so much.
Tonight, it was a documentary made with 1945 color movies. The big issue was Germany surrendered but Japan was still ignoring its defeat to be. They were attempting raids on US ships, they were sending kamikaze, they were sacrificing the population of Okinawa, etc. On the American part, they mentionned this regiment of Japanese men of the US who "beleived in a Country which didn't beleive in them". Turned out the quota men/decoration for this regiment was one of the highest in the American army. I never knew that.
This documentary went on until the two atomic bombs, Little Boy and Fat Man which pretty much changed the destiny of Japan.
I was a little cusious about the origin of their names so I Googled them.
I can't make up my mind as to know whether these are the one that blew up Japan or only reconstitutions. They look like toys. If this is the real deal... They simply look like a joke. I can't describe the feeling I have seeing them.
They showed us bits of movies taken by an American reporter who was originally from Japan. He was making movies on the effects of the bombs on buildings and people. We saw a couple shots of burned people but overall, they kept it pretty decent. No shocking stuff like we can see elsewhere. I bet these are documentary also made to show in classrooms.
Anyway, as ugly as it can be, WWII is a part of History one shall not ignore. It is our duty to learn from our past experiences… I know, it's not as obvious for all of us. I keep hope in humanity.

| Forgot To Eat~
|
I kinda forgot to eat all weekend. Or more... I probably unwillingly ignored the fact that I had to eat cause of:
- empty fridge
- dislike cooking
- lazy
- busy elsewhere
I did had breakfast around 3pm on Saturday and bowls of rice on Sunday when my stomach really started to ache.
Monday morning, I pay the price. I felt weird and couldn't stand. I laid down a bit more but... weird. So I called my boss around 9:30 this morning to tell her I won't be coming in today.
Gee, the human body is weird. It's not like I'm a skinny person... skipping a meal won't kill me. Skipping 3/6 will make me weak. OK, lesson learned.

| Feeling Better~
|
The weak feeling is gone. Gee I hate to be sick. My boss will think I am working out extended weekends since as far as I remember, I only get sick on Mondays and Fridays. How weird. Once I had a bronchitis (sp correct?) and still managed to go to work... well I think I missed a day in the middle of the week... must be somewhere in my entires.
Anyway. I came to this conclusion: I need a boyfriend who like to cook and will not bother me being terrible at it. Or I should move back with my mom... Naaaah! Third solution would be to take cooking class but it won't make me like stiring shit up when I could be doing other things.
There must have been some mistake with my genes during conception. XX and XY must have had a huge discussion about my sex-to-be and they both ended up doing concessions. And -BAM- here comes the Pouick. I'm a walking disaster. Can't cook, can't clean, don't care much for babies, don't do make-up, don't like shopping, don't enjoy soap opera... yet a girl. Go figure.
Well, off to bed. Enough nonsense for tonight. Tomorrow I'm going back to work and I need my beauty sleep.
Did I just say that?

| Declaration of Revocation by John Cleese~
|
Came across this just before bedtime. I think it is over three year old if not more (or so I was told) but I find it amusing so I felt like sharing for those who haven't had the chance to find it these past few years.
Real or not? Nontheless funny!
Declaration of Revocation
by John Cleese
To the citizens of the United States of America, in the light of your failure to elect a competent President of the USA and thus to govern yourselves, we hereby give notice of the revocation of your independence, effective today.
Her Sovereign Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will resume monarchical duties over all states, commonwealths and other territories.
Except Utah, which she does not fancy.
Your new Prime Minister (The Right Honourable Tony Blair, MP for the 97.85% of you who have until now been unaware that there is a world outside your borders) will appoint a Minister for America without the need for further elections.
Congress and the Senate will be disbanded.
A questionnaire will be circulated next year to determine whether any of you noticed. To aid in the transition to a British Crown Dependency, the following rules are introduced with immediate effect:

| Still Kinda Sick Today~
|
So this morning I wake up at 6:00, can't sleep no more so I wake up, watch a movie while eating breakfast, take a shower, get dressed and off to work I went. I was feeling good the whole time.
As soon as I arrived at work, I started to feel like puking. I managed to keep working for about 2 hours but then I just couldn't take it no more. I packed my things, said goodbye to my manager and left. Once home I laid down and slept. I slept until my bro knocked on my door.
I feel much better now. By brother has been cooking for me good meals for lunch and dinner. I think it's because he wanted me to invite him to eat. Good deal if you ask me. That's how much I like to cook. I am willing to pay someone else's food. LOL
Well back to work tomorrow. I'm happy cause I managed to check my 60 or so emails in two hours this morning and make a quick review to my manager of the issues to follow up before I left. Mission completed.

| Swiss National Day~
|
Since sp00kslane is curious about it, here is an explanation on our Swiss National Day. I got it from this site.
♥ ♥ ♥
If it's true that you can judge a country's image of itself by its National Day, then Switzerland definitely offers a relaxing sight. No military parades and no grandiose speeches on Lebensraum (living space).
On August the first, the whole country gathers in public places around bonfires and listens to speeches about the independence of the country from the Austrian rulers, which started with the Grütli Pact of 1291.
The first of August is celebrated solely in the municipalities. Only one radio and television broadcast of a speech by the President of the Confederation currently in office reminds the Swiss that their cities are united in cantons, which in turn makes the Helvetic Confederation. Thought-provoking words from an eminent cultural or political speaker, songs and music, gymnastic shows and group performances of the Swiss national anthem are the traditional elements of the holiday.
Many municipalities set off fireworks, and these spectacular light shows are often ignited from the mountains and hills. They serve as a reminder of the expulsion of the foreign bailiffs in the 14th century, for the great news was announced in this very way. The children march through the streets at dusk with candle-lit Chinese lanterns. Flags with the arms of the Confederation, the canton and the municipality fly proudly above public and private buildings alike. Even the bakers get involved, decorating their rolls of bread with little Swiss flags. The holiday takes on a whole new dimension at Neuhausen am Rheinfall in the Canton of Schaffhouse, with the illumination of the 25-meter high Rhine waterfalls.
This extravaganza is completed by a great fireworks display that draws throngs of spectators. And, like everywhere else, speeches, songs, music and the national anthem animate the evening.

Hoy! There's a big storm over Geneva right now. It started to wind a little while ago and I said to myself "Good, some fresh air, at last!" then 10 minutes later all of my windows are banging. | Friday Evening Randomness~
|
It's Friday night and I'm home doing nothing special. My plan was to tidy up and clean since a friend or two are coming for the weekend but it was too hot the whole evening so I decided to wake up eariler tomorrow morning and do it while it's still cool. Will I manage the early wake up on a Saturday morning? Not sure.
• ♥ •
I added a few songs to my radio.blog.
- X-Japan - because I can't beleive I hadn't one there yet and Crucify My Love is just beautiful.
- Onitsuka Chihiro - because I think she has a very interesting voice for a Japanese singer.
- Megaherz - just because... not as good as Rammstein but nice nontheless.
- Rhapsody - because I had it and because it's different. Some people might like it.
- L'Arc-En-Ciel - because rainbows are beautiful and the song isn't bad.
Enjoy. Or maybe not.

My manager was out of the office these past three days. The reason: ear infection. Symtoms: she looses balance each time she tries to stand. Just like a drunk person.
Before that, a couple months back, she got a tongue infection. She had a cream to apply on her tongue... weird. She always manage to have better disease than the rest of us.

My brother is smart... He sold me his cell phone few months ago. Then he waited patiently that I bought a new one. Now he asked me to get the Panasonic back because his is broken and he need a phone to receive phone calls from potential employer. How smart... I didn't even make him pay.
• ♥ •
Since I'm searching for new radio.blogs to listen on the morning, I've notticed that very few people have a paid account. User directory: 190 pages or so. Paid accounts: 4 pages. It's weird. I would have bet half of us were upgraded accounts.
Oh and at the end, there's not so many radio.blog on Tabulas.
• ♥ •
Sometime I talk about things I have read/seen in random blogs to my colleagues and when I tell them it comes from the Intardnet, they all look at me like some kind or nerd. Only few friends understand me. And my bro.
• ♥ •
I think my best friend is getting more and more serious about her relationship with her boyfriend. Hence she decided to go to Disneyland instead of coming to Geneva like she said she would. People change their mind so easily. I'm extremely deceived.
Now I have an extra week of vacation to take and I just don't know what to do with it. Invite another friend to come? Go see my cousins in Toulouse and push further South to Marseille to help Kouloum to move?
• ♥ •
I called my grandpa the other day. First because I had a long talk with my uncle the other day and he made me see my grandpa's point of view about giving news, then because I had time and I was really willing to make my grandpa happy.
One of the first things he asked my was "are you calling to announce me you've got a boyfriend?" and second "have you lost weight?". Oooh, so that's why I never call him. Thanks for reminding me.

| Cat Or Not Cat~
|
For more background, go check my Feb entry.
Pearl was talking about her cat today and I felt very envious. I want a cat! It's been a long time now and I still don't have one. First because I was discouraged by my visit to the stupid shelter. Second because I want a cat with long soft fur and I don't want to pay for it (not that easy).
Pearl told me her mom was looking for a male for her cat because they wanted kittens and she proposed to keep one for me. I didn't think much of it at first but then she showed me the picture of the mommy cat and... awww! I might get a cat this year after all.
